For lovers of relaxation and the sea, Eastern Sicily and the area surrounding Syracuse offer everything one could wish for. Starting from the ancient Greek city and going south, the equipped and most beautiful beaches to explore are Minareto, Fanusa, Arenella and Fontane Bianche, whose name derives from the natural sources of fresh water and the particular white color of the sand. Furthermore, inside the island of Ortigia, you will find equipped solariums (Zefiro and Nettuno) and a free beach called Cala Rossa. Further south, about 30 km away, we find beautiful pristine and inaccessible beaches, including Calamosche, Vendicari with its Natural Wildlife Oasis and the beautiful San Lorenzo. For culture enthusiasts, the Greek theater of Syracuse and the whole archaeological park with the Orecchio di Dionisio, a cave dug into the limestone in the shape of a human ear, the Paolo Orsi museum, and still the Latomie dei Cappuccini, as well as Ortigia itself with its historical and cultural as well as landscape beauties. Do not overlook Noto, the seafront with the tuna fishery of Avola and finally the seaside village of Marzamemi. In short, Sicily is a land to be explored and its natural and cultural beauties are treasures with which to fill your gaze.
Catania Fontanarossa airport is about 60 km away, while Comiso Pio La Torre airport is 110 km away. The Syracuse train station is very close to the bus terminal from the airport and a 10-minute walk from Ortigia.
