Sheffield’s main universities are within easy reach. You can get to the University of Sheffield in about 10 minutes on foot. Sheffield Hallam University, located in Sheffield city centre, can be reached in about 15 minutes by bus or in about 20 minutes if you prefer to walk. The University of Sheffield International College is even closer, just 7 minutes away on foot. So wherever in Sheffield you’ll be studying, getting to lectures and back should be easy when you live in this exciting student community.
You’ll never be far from your friends, because Central Place is a student village complex made up of eight houses. Each house offers a mix of private bedrooms (with either a shared or an ensuite bathroom) where you share kitchen facilities and a communal area with 4-5 other students and fully self-contained studios were you don’t have to share at all. There are also some two-bed apartments, where you share with one other student.
Each building has its own unique benefits. If you want to have breakfast al fresco on your own balcony, choose Huntsman House. If you like the idea of a roof garden, Mary Page House is the one for you. Choose Bolsover House to lounge in the beautiful planted courtyard, or Mellor House for a modern building with sleek, stylish interiors and balconies with views of Sheffield. Step back in time in Solly House, where you can admire the stunning period features of this refurbished cutlery factory.
At Central Place there is staff on-site 24/7, so if you happen to have any problems, you can report them right away. The staff are also happy to receive any packages you have delivered, so if you like online shopping, there’s no need to stay home all day waiting for your order to arrive. The building has its own maintenance team that can help you if something is broken. To make sure you and your belongings will be safe, there is CCTV and 24-hour security. The building complex also has a controlled access gate, making sure only tenants can enter.
Not sure about your studying dates yet? Don’t worry, Central Place offers flexible tenancy lengths, which means if your course has a slightly different schedule than normal, you can tailor your tenancy length according to your needs. If you want to stay at your student home through the summer, this is no problem at all. The property also offers you flexible payment terms, so that you can tailor your payments to suit your needs.
All the bills are included in your rent, so you don’t have to worry about any additional costs. Water, electricity and heating are all included in the rent you pay every month, as is the high-speed (100Mbps) WiFi that is available in all the rooms of the building complex.
You’ll also get free contents insurance as part of your rent. This contents insurance protects your belongings against damage and loss. Hopefully you won’t need it, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
If you don’t want to be stuck studying alone in your bedroom, you can head over to the study room in Brearley House, where you can be around other people and perhaps study together. The study room has free printing and also free coffee, so if you need to pull an all-nighter, you should be able to stay awake!
Student life is not all about studying of course. Once you’re done with studying your lecture notes and writing essays, you can head over to the rooftop terrace in Mary Page House or to the outdoor courtyard of Huntsman and Bolsover House. If you want to catch a film, you can do that in style in the on-site movie room. The property offers an exciting social calendar throughout the year, so it’s easy to make new friends or hang out with the old ones.
If you own a bicycle, you can store that free of charge in the secure cycle storage. And when your clothes need washing, just head over to the on-site laundry room, which makes it easy to wash your clothes whenever you want.
