You’re living next door to some of the city’s hippest cafés, bars and trendy clothes stores. After a long lie-in, fuel up with a late brunch of vegetarian goulash and a toasted sandwich at cosy Bors GasztroBár restaurant. Spend the afternoon wandering around the Hungarian Jewish museum, or check out an indie film in the opulent surroundings of the Urania art house cinema, just six minutes from your student accommodation. Buy some sharp new trainers at neighbouring shop BP, then enjoy a night out at atmospheric Szimpla Kert Ruin Pub, followed by live jazz in historic venue Mika Tivadar Mulató.

It’ll be easy to get to class on time when you live at Maverick City Lodge. Walk to your lessons at Zeneakadémia in just 10 minutes, or get to Central European University and Eӧtvös Loránd University in around 15 minutes on foot. If you’ve got a busy day ahead, make a pitstop at nearby Fókusz Kónyváruház or Tesco Express supermarkets, to pick up some snacks or a ready-made lunch. On your way back home, load up with groceries so that you can whip up a feast for your friends in the huge common kitchen.

Get a good night’s rest in your comfy bed in your shared or private room, then take a hot shower in the clean, common bathroom, or enjoy having your own ensuite. Dry off with the large, fluffy towel provided, get dressed and head down to the kitchen and dining area. Help yourself to a free tea or coffee and microwave some porridge before grabbing your bag from your locker and heading out for the day. When you don’t have to rush off to class, read a novel from the resident book exchange while you relax in the lounge.

After class, come home to relax in your spacious, air-conditioned room - it’s cleaned daily to keep it looking its best. Take a quick look at your assigned homework using the free internet on the computers, or put on a load of laundry before freshening up for a concert at Belvárosi Színház performing arts theatre. When you get back home, stop to say hello to the 24-hour receptionist, then climb the wonderfully ornate staircase up to bed.
