Choose The Heights as your student home to make the most of living near Aston University and the entertainment hotspots of the Birmingham city centre.
The Heights is located just to the north of the city centre, right next to Aston University. There are several supermarkets a few minutes from your door. When you want to get to know your new city, just hop on the bus at the stop directly outside your home to reach the city centre in just 10 minutes. Shop until you drop in the fashion stores of the Bullring Shopping Centre, or stand face-to-face with pre-Raphaelite masterpieces in Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery. Mexican restaurant Bodega Cantina is the perfect place to catch up with friends over tacos and margaritas, before enjoying an indie film at The Electric Cinema.
If you want to explore further, you can get to Birmingham New Street station in about 15 minutes on foot or in about 10 minutes by bus. New Street is a central hub of the British railway system, so from there you can take trains to lots of places all over the UK, including London, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
When you choose The Heights as your student home, you won’t just be close to the city centre and all it has to offer, but you’ll also have great links to get to your university and back.
Aston University is particularly close to The Heights and can be reached in only a couple of minutes on foot. The city centre campus of Birmingham City University is also very close and you can walk there in 15 minutes. The University of Birmingham, located to the south of the city centre, can be reached in a bit under half an hour by bus.
The Heights offers both private bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, as well as studios. When you stay in a private bedroom, you’ll have your bedroom and bathroom all for yourself and will only share the kitchen and the living area. The bedroom will have a ¾ (small double) bed and the bathroom will be equipped with a toilet, a sink and a shower. If you book a studio (Entire Place), you’ll get a fully self-contained property and won’t have to share anything. This is a great option if you prefer your own peace and quiet.
There is staff available on-site 24/7 so all possible problems can be flagged straight away. The staff will also happily hold on to any packages that might be sent to you. So if you like online shopping, or are waiting for a package to arrive from back home, you won’t have to stay in all day waiting for your delivery to arrive.
When you’re moving out of your parents’ house for the first time, staying safe and secure is of course an important issue. This has been taken into account well at The Heights. Not only is there staff available round the clock, but there is also 24-hour security and a secure bike storage where you can store a bicycle free of charge. If you have a car, you can leave it at the on-site car park for an additional fee.
Living by yourself, you’ll also have to think about washing your own laundry. This is easy at The Heights, since all you have to do is head over to the on-site laundry room and wash your clothes whenever you need to. No need to look for a self-service laundry place! If anything in your room should break, just report it to the staff and the property’s maintenance team will be happy to help you.
Staying at The Heights is easy and hassle-free as all your bills are included in the rent you pay. This means you won’t have to pay anything extra for water, electricity or heating. A high-speed WiFi (100Mbps) is also included in the rent and available in every room of the building so if you fancy a Netflix marathon or just want to research an essay, you won’t have to worry about spending your data. A contents insurance will also be included in your rent. Hopefully you won’t be needing it, but it will add a nice level of added security and peace of mind towards your belongings.
The only thing that is not included in the rent, is the fee for parking your car, should you wish to use the on-site parking facility. If you have a car, using the on-site car park will save you time and nerves, as you won’t have to look for a parking space on the streets around the property and you’ll always know your car is in a secure parking facility during the night.
If your course runs on a different schedule than normal, don’t worry. The Heights offers flexible dates for moving in and out, so if you need different dates than most university students, or want to stay in the property for the summer, that can be arranged.
You can also take advantage of the flexible payment terms the property offers and tailor your payments to suit your individual needs.
Spending your free time at The Heights is great fun as in 2018 the property invested in brand new social spaces! In addition to a study room where you can get some reading done in a quiet environment, you can hang out with your new friends in the communal lounge or head over to the on-site gym when you fancy a workout.
The property also has a garden and an outside barbecue area, which are great especially during the warmer months. The Heights also offers an exciting social calendar, with different events being organised throughout the year. With all these events, you’ll be able to make new friends easily.
