On weekends, use your student accommodation as a base for your adventures. Experience the grandeur of Durham Cathedral, an 11th Century World Heritage Site whose breathtaking architecture was used for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies. Indulge your inner nerd with lunch at Dark Matter Café – a cult hangout spot that doubles as a gaming center and comic shop. Spend the rest of the day browsing the high street fashion stores of Prince Bishops mall or strolling through the beautiful Old Durham Gardens with friends. Later, enjoy a traditional British meal at local pub The Dun Cow Inn.

At Chapel Heights Durham, you’re a 10-minute walk from Durham University’s College of St Hild and St Bede, and a 15-minute cycle from the rest of Durham University. Allow yourself a few extra moments in your luxurious double bed, then choose an outfit from your wardrobe and flip on the kitchen kettle. Head to the on-site café to catch up with your friends over breakfast, or to work on a paper before class. You’re a six-minute walk from the nearest bus stop, making it easy to get into town on weekends.

In between adventures, come home to your fully furnished studio apartment. Fix yourself a snack at the breakfast bar, then unwind while watching your favourite series on your in-room TV. Use the 100MB internet to catch up on social media, or to get started on your assignments at your bedroom desk. When you’re done, let off steam with a visit to the soundproof music room – where you can make as much noise as you like practicing with your band, or putting together your latest DJ set.

If exercise is more your thing, sign up for a session in the state-of-the-art gym instead. After your workout, rinse off in your ensuite bathroom, then walk 10 minutes to the local supermarket to stock up on supplies. Use your purchases to whip up something tasty for dinner in the kitchen. In the evening, curl up for movie night in the cinema room, or get tickets to a play at the Gala Theatre.
