When you’re not hanging out in your student housing, meet your friends for a Saturday morning sunbathing session in front of Samford Hall’s beautiful red-brick clock tower. Cheer for the Auburn Tigers basketball team at Auburn Arena, or visit the school’s mascot eagles at the Southeastern Raptor Center. Stay to watch the birds of prey in a flying demonstration, then spend the rest of the afternoon reading beneath the trees in sun-dappled Donald E. Davis Arboretum. In the evening, head to Sheila C’s Burger Barn for a homemade patty, or to Amsterdam Café for a taste of the South.

From The Hub at Auburn, drive six minutes to the Auburn University campus, or hop on the Tiger Transit at the nearby bus stop. Wake up every morning in your private bedroom, wander through to the kitchen for a slice of toast at the breakfast bar, then choose something to wear from the closet. Use the high-speed internet to submit a last-minute assignment, or print a hard copy at the business center instead. If you’ve got time, stop at Toomer’s Coffee Shop for an artisan cappuccino en route to class.  

After a busy day, come home to your furnished, air-conditioned apartment. Dump your books in the under-bed storage, then head to the pool for a refreshing swim. Spend time on the loungers or in the hot tub, or opt for a fitness center workout instead. If team sports are more your thing, you’ll find yourself spoiled for choice at The Hub at Auburn, with basketball, volleyball and tennis courts just waiting to be used. Later, throw your sports clothes in your apartment’s washer dryer, then step into the bathroom for a shower.

Afterwards, grab a clean plate from the dishwasher, fix yourself a snack, then wander out to the balcony to eat. Settle down to watch TV with your flatmate on the living room sofa, or head to the clubhouse for an evening spent flitting between the dartboard, arcade games and pool table. When you want a more cultured night out, take a four-minute drive to the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Art, which is an eclectic art space that hosts regular jazz evenings, lectures, and arthouse movies.
