Call The Place at 117 home and you’ll be surrounded with college sporting and social activities. Step out your student housing and get a caffeine hit with a creamy latte at Espresso Royale. Wander through the Krannert Art Museum and admire over 10,000 works of art dotted throughout its galleries. Learn about the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia and Egypt in the Spurlock Museum. Then cheer on the mighty Fighting Illini college basketball team at the State Farm Centre with 16,000 other fans affectionately known as the ’orange crush’.

You won’t have to worry about getting to class when you live at The Place at 117. There’s a regular shuttle bus that will get you to campus in five minutes, or grab your bike and pedal there in 10.

Everything you need to enjoy your student experience is also close at hand. Pick up groceries from Schnucks on your way home from class, or swing by the Farmers’ Markets in Champaign during the summer months for seasonal produce and locally-produced food. If you feel like eating out, try Smoky’s House BBQ for their sticky babyback ribs.

If you love to cook for friends, you won’t be disappointed with the kitchen facilities at The Place at 117. You’ll have all the mod cons at your fingertips, including an oven, stovetop, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and garbage disposal. There’s also plenty of space for entertaining. The two, three and four-bedroom fully furnished apartments come with open plan living spaces, spacious bedrooms and ensuites. After dinner, you can sit back and watch the big game on your 37 inch flat-screen TV, or flick through the cable channels.

With high-speed internet access available in the apartment, you can study in the privacy of your own room. Or if you prefer to collaborate with classmates, take a quick walk down to the study lounge and print out your assignments in the business center. When it’s time to unplug and unwind, plunge into the heated pool, burn off some energy in the 24-hour fitness center or make friends with your neighbours at the resident events and socials.
