Step outside your front door and you can walk to the University of Maine in less than half an hour, or arrive in eight minutes if you jump on the Black Bear shuttle bus. Alternatively, drive to Husson University in 20 minutes or buy a second-hand bike from Rose Bicycle and pedal to class in half the time.

After college, you’ll find an array of authentic eateries downtown. Meet up with friends for Mexican at Margaritas, share a pizza at Pat’s or indulge in a jungle curry at Thai Kitchen. If you prefer to cook at home, you’ll love whipping up recipes using your stove and oven, then stack your dirty pots and pans into the dishwasher. After dinner, you can kick back on your leather couch and watch premium cable, or head down to the games room to catch up with neighbors.

In summer, gather a group by the outdoor grills after a competitive game of basketball or a refreshing dip in the resort-style pool. When it’s time to knuckle down and study, you have a choice of communal lounges kitted out with desks, chairs and printing facilities.
