Salamanca is home to a huge student population, and the university is located in the historic town centre so you’ll have the best of the city at your fingertips. When you’ve finished lectures for the day, don’t rush home to your Salamanca student accommodation. Instead, arrange to meet friends in the beautiful Plaza Mayor, one of the latest squares in Spain, and soak up the atmosphere as you enjoy tapas and a cold beer. Get your culture fix at Museo Art Nouveau y Deco, or admire the Gothic architecture of the New Cathedral. For a change of pace, head out of the city to Nature Park Arribes del Duero to wander among waterfalls and see some of Spain’s most spectacular natural scenery.
