Founded in 1861, the University of Washington is one of the oldest public universities on the West Coast. More than 54,000 students attend, studying around 1,800 courses in total each quarter. Its medical school is one of the best in the country. UW’s main campus is based in Seattle, though it has two more campuses in Tacoma and Bothell.
