History of the University of West London
The University of West London has a heritage of over 150 years in teaching and professional education.
Its long history dates back to 1860 with the establishment of the Lady Byron School. The school was later renamed the Ealing College of Higher Education. In 1990 it become the Polytechnic of West London before changing its name again two years later to the Thames Valley University after being granted university status in 1992.
In recognition of the quality of its teaching, it was awarded the prestigious Queen’s Anniversary Prize for outstanding achievement and excellence in hospitality education in 2009. Two years later, the university officially changed its name to The University of West London.

What are the different types of student rooms you offer?
We currently offer three different kinds of student rooms:
The Shared Rooms we list allow two or more people to share the same bedroom. Other facilities like bathrooms, kitchens and living rooms, are shared with occupants of other rooms.
The Private Rooms we list house just one person in a private bedroom. Depending on the property, your bathroom might be either private or shared. Other facilities will be shared with tenants from other rooms.
The Entire Place option provides a fully self-contained studio property with a private bedroom, bathroom and a small kitchenette. No need to share anything!
How can I find cheap accommodation near the University of West London?
Shared rooms are typically cheaper than private rooms, so if you’re willing to share, this is a good way to save some money. To secure your booking you’ll be asked to pay a deposit. Your booking consultant will provide you with the necessary information about this.
