How do I apply for student accommodation in Glasgow?

Applying for private student accommodation with Student.com is very simple:

• Request to book – let us know which property you are interested in & our booking consultants will guide you through the next steps. 
• Sign your contract – once your contract is signed you will pay your rent. Student.com does not charge you anything for our booking service: you’ll only need to pay the rent to your chosen landlord.

What types of rooms are available?

We offer three different types of rooms for accommodation in Glasgow. The first option is a Shared Room, where you share a bedroom with at least one other person. All other facilities are also shared.

If you book a Private Room, you’ll get your own bedroom (and in some properties a private bathroom) and will share other facilities.

If you book an Entire Place, you’ll get an entire studio apartment for yourself. This means you’ll have your own bedroom, bathroom and cooking facilities, without needing to share anything with anyone. The perfect choice if you enjoy your own peace and quiet!

How do I pay my rent?

We will provide you all the needed payment details once you’ve signed the contract and finalised the booking with one of our booking consultants. You’ll pay the rent directly to the landlord and won’t have to pay anything to Student.com.

Usually you can pay your rent to the landlord either by bank transfer or with a credit or debit card.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Yes, in order to secure the booking, you’ll need to pay the landlord a deposit. Your booking consultant will give you more information on this when you are finalising the booking.

Can I see the property before I make my choice?

Yes, this can be arranged if you want. If you’ll be in Glasgow before your move-in date, contact us and one of our booking consultants can arrange viewings for you. Many of the properties we list have a great selection of photos and videos on the property pages though, so you’ll be able to get a good idea of where you’ll be living even if you don’t see the place for yourself first.

Can I live with a friend or with my partner?

Yes, this can usually be arranged. Once you’ve submitted your application, you can log into your user account on Student.com. Navigate to the section for managing your preferences and state that you’d like to live together. Make sure your friend or partner does the same and marks on their account preferences that they’d like to live with you.
