Another campus is located in the nearby city of Geelong. The university also has three learning centres in Dandenong, Craigieburn and Werribee, all in the Melbourne metropolitan area.

The Rusden campus was closed in 2003 and the Toorak campus in 2006, with the courses from both moved to the main Burwood campus.
2020 marked the tenth year in a row that Deakin University had the highest undergraduate student satisfaction rate of all universities in the state of Victoria.
