Not every element of the London Games disappeared as the Olympic flame died out at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games. The transformed suburb of Stratford was left in its wake. An established industrial area since the 1800s, Stratford was reinvented as a well-connected, modern hive of activity.

The area of Stratford was stunningly reinvented for the 2012 London Games. Your home could be right in the middle of the Olympic Park. Stratford One is an airy and spacious building, a stone’s throw from all the incredible facilities built for the Games, including the stunning London Stadium and one of Europe’s largest urban malls, the Westfield Stratford City. You’ll also be next to the culturally blooming Hackney Wick, packed with canalside creative spaces, warehouse bars and exuberant nightlife. Oh, and the excellent transport links can get you into central London in 15 minutes on the Jubilee line.

Staying at Stratford ONE

Stratford ONE has 1,001 bedrooms, all with a private bathroom. You can choose an en-suite room with a shared kitchen and lounge or a studio which comes with a private kitchen.

All rooms have a desk and chair, as well as plenty of storage space for all your clothes and other stuff. The kitchens are fitted with an oven, a microwave and a fridge-freezer.

What is included in your rent?

All bills are included in the rent. This covers electricity, water and gas, so you don’t have to pay anything for these. There is also a free Wi-Fi that you can use throughout the building, including in your bedroom, so you can watch Netflix or video call your family in peace. Stratford ONE also offers contents insurance as part of your contract. Most likely you won’t have to worry though. The secure access and CCTV ensure that you can enjoy your student life in peace.

Amenities at Stratford ONE

When you need to study, the property has lots of study spaces where you can get some reading done. But that’s only the beginning of your student experience of course. That’s why Stratford ONE also offers some great facilities to spend your free time. There is a cinema room where you can catch films, as well as a huge common room with a pool table, table tennis, vintage Space Invaders arcade games and table football.

Outside there is a large courtyard as well as roof terraces on floors 12, 14 and 18. There’s also a penthouse-style sky lounge on the 24th floor of the property. This can be booked for you to enjoy magnificent views across London.

When you need to wash some clothes, there is a laundry room on the premises that you can use. There’s also printing facilities and vending machines for buying small snacks, as well as a bike storage. If you have any problems, you can report them to the on-site service team or maintenance support.

During the 2024/25 academic year, we'll be carrying out works to the external facade of this property between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday. You will hear some low noise disruption during working hours, and see scaffolding on site. We will communicate notice of these works to all tenants ahead of them starting.
