Where is ESCP London located?
ESCP’s UK campus is located on Finchley Road in West Hampstead, North-West London. It is only a tube ride away from the bright city lights of the centre of one of the most vibrant cities in the world.
Very popular among students, London is a global centre for business and culture, and a multicultural giant that offers an unforgettable life experience.
West Hampstead is a great part of London
Finchley Road is one of the major thoroughfares of north London. The four miles long inner-city main road is a heavily used route in and out of the capital city and is stocked with commercial attractions such as the O2 Centre, Odeon Cinema, the Hampstead Theatre, restaurants, shops, banks, and supermarkets.
It's part of a thriving and friendly community that has its own character and energy as well as a well-to-do reputation within the North-West London region.
While West Hampstead is mainly an affluent residential district of large Victorian houses and apartment buildings, it’s younger and edgier than neighbouring Hampstead.
Upwardly mobile young people and city professionals are drawn to West Hampstead’s lively bars and cafés, vibrant nightlife, and impressive architecture.
The area is also known for its great collection of diverse global eateries, and fashion stores on West End Lane. The high-street dominates the area and acts as a social hub. A stone’s throw away from the ESCP campus is the O2 Centre, an indoor shopping, dining and entertainment centre, that is stacked with a cinema and a number of eating and shopping options, as well as a Virgin Active gym with a swimming pool.
In even closer proximity is the impressive JW3, a popular arts, culture and entertainment venue equipped with a theatre and a cinema.
For a reflection of the cultural diversity of the area, head a little further around the road to Kiln Theatre on Kilburn High Road and see fantastic performances in a wide range of local plays.
Good transport links to the city centre and elsewhere
Studying in West Hampstead will place you in a peaceful, classy, but vibrant neighbourhood that offers a broad cultural experience away from the hustle and bustle of inner-city London.
However, the buzz of central London is still less than 10 minutes away. The three train stations on West End Lane provide easy routes across London and to as far as Brighton.

History of ESCP European Business School
In 1819, when ESCP was established, it was one of the first business schools in the world and the first school in France to offer business studies.
The early days were shaped by its builders: entrepreneurs such as Germain Legret and Amédée Brodart, and scholars such as economist Jean-Baptiste Say, theorist of the concept of entrepreneurship, merchant Vital Roux, contributor to the conception of the French Commercial Code and promoter of a pedagogy oriented towards practical teaching, and economist Adolphe Blanqui, the owner and director of the school for 24 years.
Thanks to a bold policy of international openness, more than 20% of the school’s student population was international as early as 1827.
Under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ESCP was reinforced and reached maturity. This resulted in significant expansion of programmes and an increase in enrolments from a few dozen students in the 1820s to 250 at the end of the 19th century and nearly a thousand by the 1970s.
ESCP became independent from the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2018. The launching of the European Bachelor degree anchored the School in the European License-Master-Doctorate (LMD) model, triggering strong growth.
